Agentic network growth engine

URN C26.0.925
Topics Autonomous networks, Network as a Service (NaaS), Open Digital Architecture (ODA)

Intent-driven Agentic AN and Composable IT autonomously scale multi-process, multilayer, multidomain networks into revenue-generating models at commercial scale for telcos.

The Agentic Network Growth Engine addresses a critical inflection point for Communications Service Providers: the inability of human-dependent operations and legacy OSS/BSS architectures to sustainably scale commercial networks. As 5G and FTTx expansion accelerates network complexity across RAN, Transport, Core, and access domains, siloed processes, manual intervention, and rigid IT stacks are constraining agility, inflating OPEX, and limiting growth. Traditional automation has reached its ceiling—making AI-native transformation and business-model reinvention unavoidable. This Catalyst delivers a unified, intent-driven Agentic AI architecture combined with Digital Twin technology to realize commercially scalable Autonomous Network Level 4 (AN4). A common data platform and common process platform integrate multi-layer, multi-domain environments, enabling zero-touch operations, autonomous fault recovery, AI-driven optimization, and real-time decision-making across the full network lifecycle. Tacit expert knowledge is captured and operationalized through LLMs, knowledge graphs, and agentic workflows, ensuring continuity and continuous learning at scale. Beyond operational autonomy, the project introduces a decisive shift in telecom economics. In Phase 2, TM Forum ODA-aligned Composable IT modularizes network and OSS/BSS capabilities into reusable, API-exposed products. Autonomous network functions become externally consumable services—delivered via Open APIs and Network-as-a-Service (NaaS)—transforming the network from a cost center into a self-sustaining, revenue-generating digital platform. This enables faster service innovation, ecosystem collaboration, and measurable P&L impact. The consortium brings together complementary strengths: KDDI provides the common data platform and real commercial network scenarios; ServiceNow and Blue Planet deliver the common process platform, multi-domain OSS, and orchestration; and Accenture leads the Agentic Autonomous Network architecture, AI implementation, and roadmap toward an AI-native Telco. By unifying Autonomous Networks and ODA using standard TM Forum assets, the Agentic Network Growth Engine establishes a practical, repeatable pathway for CSPs to achieve irreversible transformation—where AI understands intent, autonomously operates networks, and Composable IT continuously exposes that intelligence as monetizable digital services.
