Simon is the Director of Digital Network & OSS Engineering at Vodafone, bringing a wealth of cross-industry experience to the role.
Simon started his career in the Defence Industry, focusing on military communications and GIS-based mission control planning systems for the RAF. He also has extensive consulting experience with Accenture, specializing in large-scale IT (OSS and BSS) transformations in the communications, media, and technology industries.
In the telecommunications sector, Simon has worked across all areas of the Vodafone Technology team. He has held senior roles in Vodafone IT and Vodafone Business Platforms and Solutions, where his teams focused on developing fixed connectivity products for the enterprise market. As the Head of OSS Operations, he led the operation of Vodafone’s OSS stack and was responsible for the Zero Touch Operations strategy definition and execution. Currently, as the Head of Digital Network & OSS, Simon oversees a large-scale network IT division of over 500 people and 1000+ tools. His team is made up of three engineering functions: Operational Support Systems (OSS), Digital Network Platforms and Product, and Network Test Labs. They are leading several notable major programmes, including the largest programme of OSS simplification and modernization in Vodafone's history, the delivery of generative AI solutions for Vodafone networks, and the transformation of network test labs to create the labs of the future.
Simon specializes in AI, automation and advanced analytics technologies, agile and SAFe delivery practices, major programme management, and business transformation. Outside of work, he enjoys watching and coaching football, spending time with his family, skiing, and reading.
