Autonomous Networks

Join the Mission to transform customer experiences and achieve end-to-end "Zero-X" operations

Accelerating the shift to Autonomous Network operations and management is a top priority for CTOs and network leaders across the connectivity industry.

Our Autonomous Networks Mission enables providers to reach Level 4 of AN maturity and beyond, unlocking benefits from increased velocity to reduced costs and better customer experience through a Highly Autonomous Network.
Members are building an industry standard architecture that enables self-healing, self-optimizing network domains, readying the network for autonomous “Zero-X” (zero wait, zero touch, zero trouble) operations.

Autonomous Networks levels solutions

TM Forum research suggests AN maturity can result in up to a 55% reduction in operations and maintenance costs, a 71% rise in customer satisfaction and a 21% increase in energy savings, while also helping businesses reach their sustainability goals

The AN framework aims to provide a systematic method for operators from AN strategy planning to implementation, guiding them to carry out AN work more efficiently. The solution packs will include four key elements: AN levels, Key Effectiveness Indicators (KEIs), AN Target Architecture, and AN Map, along with operation practices, and industry assessment (ANLAV).

  • High value scenarios (HVS) guide aims to direct the industry into which AN solutions to prioritize.
  • AN Level solution packs are being developing across the matrix of domains and services needed for the CSPs to deliver automation based on the HVS that they want to adopt.
  • Autonomous Networks levels (AN Levels) measure the level of autonomic capability in a given network scenario (for example: fault management on the radio access network, quality optimization on the IP network…). .
  • AN Level assessment validation (ANLAV) TM Forum provides a service to independently scrutinise and validate that an that an operator’s Autonomous Network Level assessment has been carried out correctly according to the methodology.
